DJ Vietnam Shares End Down 0.4%; Support at 502
December 20, 2013

0837 GMT [Dow Jones] Vietnam's stock index ends 0.4% lower at 504.45 as foreign funds sell some big-cap stocks to book profits before the end of the year, traders say. Still, "many local institutions are buying on expectations that local companies will report decent fourth quarter results. The domestic economy has shown signs of improvement such as low inflation and a stable currency," a trader at Ocean Securities says. Volume is heavy with 142.4 million shares valued at VND3.04 trillion changing hands. Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAG.VH) ends down 0.5% at VND20,900, Vietcombank (VCB.VH) closes 1.5% lower at VND26,800 and Bao Viet Holdings (BVH.VH) falls 0.3% to VND38,700. Traders tip the key index to find support at 502 on Monday. (phammuoi.nguyen@wsj.com) Contact us in Singapore. 65 64154 140; MarketTalk@dowjones.com
